Dr Margaret Ng is a practicing barrister and accredited mediator in Hong Kong. She acquired her law degree from the University of Cambridge and Doctorate of Philosophy from the Boston University.
Dr Ng has been active in serving the public. She is the Executive Committee Member of Hong Kong Unison. Previously, she was a Member of the Legislative Council (1995-1997, 1998-2012), a Member of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (1997-2003), and a Part-time Member of the Central Policy Unit (1989-1992).
Before entering legal practice, Dr Ng held senior positions in journalism, serving as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief (1986-1988) and Publisher (1988-1990) of Ming Pao Daily News.
